GPI Project Management

Structured success - your plant project in experienced hands

Coordination with technical expertise

A plant project is more than the sum of its individual trades. Design, production, assembly, electrical engineering, control and commissioning must mesh seamlessly in terms of technology, scheduling and organisation. GPI takes on the responsible task of bringing these complex projects to a successful conclusion in a structured and technically sound manner.

Our project managers have many years of experience in plant and conveyor technology construction. They not only master the methods of project management, but also speak the language of the designers, production, fitters and clients. This enables them to make decisions that are technically sound, economically viable and optimised for the respective framework conditions.

From the initial requirements analysis through to successful commissioning, we coordinate all those involved, keep an eye on quality, interfaces and deadlines and solve any challenges that arise before they become problems.

GPI takes over the management and realisation of plant projects

Depending on requirements and integration into the overall project, we take on the management of plant projects in various forms:

As a general contractor

We take full control of the project from planning to turnkey commissioning. The client has a central point of contact and a clear result.

As a system supplier

We deliver a clearly defined system scope within a larger project. The interfaces to neighbouring trades are jointly defined and clearly documented.

As external project manager

We are directly involved in the client's organisation and manage the project with our proven methodology and experience on behalf of and in the interests of the client.

Project types

We always adapt our approach and structure to the specific project. We support the following types of projects:

New plants

The development and realisation of complete conveyor and material flow systems from the ground up, from the requirements analysis to the production-ready, turnkey system.

Extensions

Increasing capacities or adding new functions to existing systems. New lines, stations or vehicles are integrated during ongoing production.

Modernisation and adaptation

The adaptation of existing systems to new requirements, be it through other products, higher throughputs or the replacement of obsolete components.

Special projects

Prototype developments, feasibility studies, support with third-party systems or taking on external project management, everything that goes beyond the usual scope.

Scope of services

Not every project requires a complete turnkey solution. We offer exactly the scope that the client actually needs, from individual components to full project management.

Turnkey complete systems

From planning, design, production, assembly and electrical engineering to commissioning, we manage the entire project and hand over a fully functional, production-ready system.

Suitable for you if

you are looking for a complete solution and want to coordinate all trades under one roof.

Typical features

  • One contact person for the entire project
  • Mechanical, electrical and control systems from a single source
  • Integration into customer systems and neighbouring trades
  • Acceptance of a fully functional system

System deliveries

We supply complete conveyor systems as a clearly defined sub-scope within a larger project. The interfaces to other trades are jointly coordinated and documented.

Suitable for you if

you are a general contractor or plant constructor looking for an experienced partner for materials handling technology

Typical features

  • Defined system scope with clear demarcation
  • Interface definition with other project participants
  • Mechanical, electrical and control systems to your specification
  • Seamless integration into higher-level system concepts

Component deliveries

Individual assemblies and system components, for new projects, expansions or as high-quality replacements. These include vehicles, lifting devices, branching elements, handling devices and load handling attachments. We also manufacture individual items and small series as required.

Suitable for you if

You need specific individual components - for your own projects, for expansion or as spare parts.

Typical features

  • Vehicles, lifting equipment, branching elements
  • Handling equipment and load handling attachments
  • Replacement and expansion components
  • Also individual items and small series

Project-specific special developments

If there is no suitable solution, we develop customised systems, from the concept phase through prototyping and testing to series production.

Suitable for you if

you have a challenging task for which there is no off-the-shelf solution.

Typical features

  • Development of new systems for unique requirements
  • Adaptation of proven solutions to specific boundary conditions
  • Integration of third-party components in GPI systems
  • Prototype construction, testing and optimisation

Our approach

01

Project initiation

The project objectives, framework conditions and success criteria are precisely defined together with the client. The project organisation is determined and communication and decision-making channels are clearly defined.

02

Planning

Creation of a detailed project plan with timeline, resource planning and milestones. Work packages, responsibilities and accountabilities are clearly assigned.

03

Realisation

Coordination and continuous monitoring of all project activities. Regular reporting, active countermeasures in the event of deviations and ensuring the agreed quality standards.

04

Conclusion

Support during acceptance, preparation of complete documentation and structured handover of the system. A final project analysis rounds off the process and provides valuable insights for future projects.
